Recent Study: Social Media Pages Are Great…But Interacting With Them is the Key
A recent report from advertising agency Arnold Worldwide, indicates the importance of not only having a social media presence, but being responsive to customers who interact with it. Arnold surveyed 2,400 men and women aged 18 and over, living in the US, UK, Brazil and China about their social media practices. The responses received said a lot about what people expect to get out of business-related social media pages.
Globally, 60% of respondents said they have posted comments regarding an experience with a brand on the company’s social media pages. Around 40% of those living in the US and UK said they expect a response to these comments, while nearly half of all respondents claimed to respect brands that are willing to interact with customers who have reached out via social media.
These are important statistics to consider when developing your company’s social media presence. Setting up Facebook, Twitter, Tumblr, Pinterest and any other social media pages is a good first step, but if you’re setting these pages up, and then ignoring them, you may potentially be doing more harm than good.
